Better understand glacier changes
Glaciers act as important freshwater sources and are key contributors to sea level rise. To date, various types of modelling approaches have been used to simulate how these precious ice masses evolve to adapt to changing climatic conditions. In this presentation, we will show how recent advances in glacier modelling and observations allow us to better understand and project glacier changes. For this, we will highlight ongoing work within the VUB’s ‘Water and Climate’ department and reveal the exciting scientific plans that we have for the coming years.
