First this: if you have an email address on MACH (pop), forwarding will remain available for as long as your computer account remains on the system (even when you no longer can access it, f.i. after you have left the university) or until you remove it.
Note: We have had reports of users missing mails forwarded to their non-VUB/ULB address (among which hotmail). This may be due to particular "anti-spam" rules on the site, or predefined rules for the account on this site. You can also leave a copy of the messages in your VUB/ULB mailbox, but please clean older messages up from time to time (once a month or so). Thank you.
The easiest way to have your mail forwarded from your MACH (pop) account, is with the Tools in WebMail
You can also use Webvacation if you have a MACH (pop) account (don't use its vacation feature if you have a mail alias based on your full name!!).
Under a UNIX enviroment, you can put the email address(es) you wish to forward mail to in the file called $HOME/.forward (you have to login onto the server with telnet or ssh).If you have an account on the server MACH (pop), you can use the "Mach menu system" to add addresses to this .forward file (see the example on how to proceed).
On another machine, you will have to use a texteditor to create or modify the .forward file.
