How to verify the version of McAfee

Open the About McAfee window

Look at the bottom-right corner on your Windows Desktop for an icon with a red M on it and click on it with the right button of your mouse. A menu will open on which you click the VirusScan Enterprise item with the left mouse button.

Next click with the left mouse button on the item About VirusScan Enterprise...

A window will open, which will indicate

1. Version of the McAfee software : 8.7.0i (version 8.5 is also a good version)
2. The DAT version (virusdefinitions): 4.0.6712
3. Date of the DAT: 15 May 2012
4. Scan Engine Version : 5300.2777

Note that the visual example below is an example, so the numbers indicated for the Virus definitions and Scan engine may be outdated. See above for the current versions.
