Comment by a participant:
"I am very grateful to the STIMULATE authority for selecting me as a
participant this time. I am obliged to all the faculty members who helped us in
the last three months to explore more information on knowledge management. We
are very lucky to have such experienced & learned teachers.
My interest in Librarianship and lack of proper training in my country motivated
me to apply for STIMULATE9. The training is completely in English with full
scholarship and these facts encouraged me more to apply for it.
It's been a well structured updated training curriculum with an orientation
towards the expanding cross-disciplinary area of knowledge organization and
knowledge management. The teaching methods and training curriculum is well
thought-out. I believe that the training will broaden my professional knowledge
in other areas besides librarianship.
I am sure that what I have learnt in this program both theory and practical
aspects of librarianship would make me a better professional in my area of
specialization in my organization. All the participants were very friendly and
helpful. I have made some good friends here and I have learned a lot of things
from them.
Besides, participating in the 30th IATUL Conference, I take it as an opportunity
to meet people from around the world and get some input that I might not get
from any ordinary training. Being a scholar in an international training program
I came to know more about how the field is considered in other countries. I
think it is important to know about other countries, their culture and how they
do the same thing in different ways.
My experience in Brussels is unforgettable. The weather was nice. It's expensive
to live in Belgium but it is always a good learning experience to do training in
the capital of Europe. What I like most is the greenness, the public
transportation/communication system, the parks and the fact that Brussels is a
multi-cultural city."
