14.07.2008 - Conference on the historical use of images

The History and Art Science Department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Free University of Brussels) and FARO - Vlaams Steunpunt voor Cultureel erfgoed are proud to present the Conference on the historical use of Images. The event focuses on the importance, significance and value of images for contemporary historical and archaeological research and the study of cultural heritage (1880-1980), stressing both on the positive insights that might be garnered from visual material as well as on the possible difficulties. This event will be held on the 11th of March at FARO - Vlaams Steunpunt voor Cultureel Erfgoed (Brussels).

Dr. Anne Cronin (Lancaster University), Dr. Marga Altena (Working Group Visual Culture) and Dr. Kees Ribbens (Netherlands Institute for War Documentation) are invited as keynote speakers to this conference. We encourage PhD and Master students and other young researchers to respond to the call for papers.

  • Where? FARO - Vlaams Steunpunt voor Cultureel Erfgoed (Brussels)
  • When? 11th of March
