Purpose

AWE is a Perl-based program for virtual workshops where (scientific) topics are discussed among a number of registered participants. Its features include:

• Easy-to-navigate interface
  • Thread-based structure
  • Each thread is introduced by a target article
  • Paragraphs are uniquely numbered
  • Replies may be made to the target as well as to other replies
  • Replies may address an entire text or just a single paragraph
  • Max. hierarchical depth is 2, i.e., participants do not get lost in endlessly deep hierachies
  • Supports html commands and images
  • Preview mode before posting
• Full administrative control
  • Password protection for participants
  • Guest login for restricted browsing
  • Adjustible parameters
  • Easy installation
