At the end of 2004 the idea grew to provide a context and forum for discussion between young people (in the broad sense) who are studying the foundational aspects of the quantum theory. Thus the "Y.Q.M." (Young Quantum Meetings) was born. The main aim of the group is to bring together young quantum physicists and philosophers to discuss and go still further in the understanding of one of the most beautiful theories ever created by man. The different perspectives the participants take are a testimony to the fact that no unique interpretation is, as of yet, dominant. This healthy state of affairs provides for lively discussions and "understanding through dialogue", following the European tradition of Natural Philosophy that goes back to Kepler, Newton, Leibniz and Kant, and whose steps were followed by the main characters of the quantum revolution: Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, Wolfgang Pauli, Luis de Broglie, Erwin Schrödinger, Max Born, Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi and many others.
