Raphaël Cahen joined the research center as of 1 Jan 2017 as FWO Incoming Pegasus2 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow. In 2016-2017, Raphael was a visiting professor in the Department of Political Sciences for the course European history (First Year Bachelor of Social Sciences).
He studied Law (Aix-Marseille University, 2006), Political Sciences (LMU Munich, 2005) and History of political Doctrines (University of Perugia 2006). In 2014, he obtained his joint PhD in Law (Aix-Marseille University) and Political Sciences (LMU Munich), published by De Gruyter in 2017 as Friedrich Gentz (1764-1832): Penseur post-Lumières et acteur du nouvel ordre européen (ISBN 978-3-11-045534-2).
Raphaël is now working on his new project on political and intellectual migration in Europe (1789-1871): Legal aspects from transnational perspectives (promoter: Paul De Hert; co-promoter: Frederik Dhondt).
