Mary-France Desmedt

Mary-France Desmedt (°1966) obtained a Master's degree in History in 2008 (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). Her thesis was entitled 'Het vredegerecht te Brussel: het eerste jaar van werking tijdens het Directoire, 1795-1796'. She examined if and how the litigants' social and professional profile influenced the chances of reconciliation and even the final verdict. In March 2011, she started a Ph.D. research on labour and labour relations in the hotel and catering industry. Her supervisor is prof. dr. Patricia Van den Eeckhout. She is also enrolled in the Master after Master 'Archivistiek en Hedendaags Documentbeheer'.
