The most important themes and the key concepts of history will be tackled by the students at Bachelor level, focussing on independence and self-motivation. Students will learn the métier of the historian by writing papers and essays. Other social sciences can play an important role in this process. Therefore, one of the following Minors can be chosen: Art Science, Philosophy, Communication Sciences, Latin, Sociology or Political Sciences. The generic programme offers the students a wide selection of courses.

The Master in History aims at the deepening of the basic education in historical sciences that was taught in the Bachelor level. Four periods (Antiquity, Middle Ages, Early Modern Times, and Modern Times) are studied via lectures and discussion sessions. These are grouped into three thematic profiles (Urban History, Political Practice, and Culture, and Labour and Entrepreneurship), which concur with the expertise of the staff members.

Students who wish to continue studying after the Master level, should take a look at the Advanced Master programmes.

A History degree offers students the possibility to apply for a job as a teacher. More information can be found on the pages of the Teacher's degree.

Finally, evening education also offers a History Programme.
