Dr. Mihalis Kritikos is a Senior Associate in White and Case, a law firm specialised in Environmental and Risk Regulatory Affairs. His expertise lies in the fields of climate change, risk regulation, technology assessment, sustainable management strategies, access to genetic resources, licensing requirements, regulatory compliance and regulatory control of new and emerging risks. He has worked extensively on environmental management matters with a special emphasis on environmental impact and strategic environmental assessment, sustainable management of Natura 2000 sites and water resources, environmental liability and marine and air pollution strategies. Before joining W&C, Mihalis worked as a Research Programme Manager for the Research and Innovation Directorate General of the European Commission dealing with legal, ethical and governance issues arising at the design and development of a wide range of new and emerging technological applications. Mihalis has also been a Lecturer at the University of Exeter (Department of Law) and taught European Union Law and Institutions courses for several years at the London School of Economics. He is a visiting Lecturer at the Academy of European Law and an invited speaker at a series of annual conferences. Mihalis holds a Bachelors in Law (Athens Law School), Masters Degrees in European and International Environmental Law and Environmental Management (University of Athens and EAEME respectively), a PhD in European Biotechnology Law (LSE) and he is the holder of the 2008 UACES Prize for the Best Thesis in European Studies in Europe.
