Alex Boniface Makulilo is a Tanzanian legal professional who possesses considerable and diverse experience both in academia and applied legal practice with a keen research, teaching, and practitioner focus on Information and Communication Technology Law as it relates to privacy, data protection, intellectual property, electronic commerce, cyber crimes and internet governance within Tanzania and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He graduated from the law faculty at the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) in 2004 and completed a Master of Laws in Information and Communication Technology Law at the University of Oslo (Norway) in 2006. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D on Protection of Personal Data in Sub-Saharan Africa at the University of Bremen(Germany).
