Sandrien Mampaey (°1982, Vilvoorde) obtained her law degree at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2005 (magna cum laude). She started her professional career at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law & ICT ( ICRI) at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven as a legal researcher. She conducted research in the field of privacy. She left ICRI in October 2006 for the Vlaamse Dagbladpers, the Flemish Newspaper Publishers’ Association, where she works as a legal adviser specializing in copyright and media law. While working at the Vlaamse Dagbladpers, she also completed an LLM Intellectual Property Rights at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel in 2007 (magna cum laude).

Sandrien joined LSTS in October 2008 as a freelance researcher focusing on copyright and media law.
