Wim Schreurs has a Master degree in Law (1996, Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights (1999, Katholieke Universiteit Brussel - Centre for Intellectual Property Rights KU Leuven). From 2001 until 2006, he teached practical courses of Methodology of Law (V.U.B.) next to his research carried out on a national and European level. Since 2009, Wim is a lector at PHL University College where he teaches the legal aspects of the music industry.

Since 1998, Wim is a member of the Brussels Bar where he works as an attorney in the field of Entertainment, ICT, Privacy & Data Protection Law. His clients are mainly authors, composers and performing artists. In 2010, he is a legal advisor to the Belgian Privacy Commissioner.

Wim is currently writing a PhD thesis on the relation between data protection law and the concept of ambient intelligence.
