On the images of Chiron made by Denis Bergeron (Quebec, Canada) on 1995 March 28 and 1995 March 29, some asteroids were indicated by Denis. The undersigned found out that one of the asteroids appeared on two images. The images were astrometrically and photometrically reduced. The results for the asteroid were promptly accepted by Dr. Brian G. Marsden of the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams (CBAT). The results were published in M.P.C. 25405-25406.
A new asteroid was discovered!
However, the late recognition of this asteroid (several weeks after the pictures were recorded), made it impossible to make further observations. As such this asteroid will maybe forever remain in the archives of the CBAT as an unnumbered piece of rock.
Denis and myself are not desperate ... we are working on new asteroid discoveries, and not without success. But that's another story.
