Research Interests

Fabrice SERVAES received his degree of M.Sc in Biology, option Environmental Biology, in July 2006 from the Free University of Brussels (VUB), Brussels, Belgium. Thesis M. Sc. in Biology: Effects of Landscape Attributes on the Ornithofauna in a Central Greek Agricultural Landscape Type. Study of Vegetation Structures, Ornithofaunal Composition and Ecology.

In August 2006 he joined the department ANCH of the VUB, where he starts a PhD. The main objective of this research is to reconstruct past environmental conditions, such as salinity and water temperature, based on stable isotopes (d13C; d18O) and trace element proxies (Mg/Ca, Sr/Ca, etc.) incorporated in biogenic carbonates (in this case bivalve shells).
