News

  • Election fever is rising at the start of the second semester. The student elections belong to the rich tradition of student participation at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. From the early start VUB took up a pioneering role in the participative democratic student voice. The university now calls on the new generation to connect to this tradition by listing up as a candidate.

  • Calling all professors, students and alumni, staff, supporters and friends of VUB: all are invited to take part in a survey about the university’s identity this month. This is the start of a major exercise that will result in a new visual identity and clarify VUB’s position in the world. The project culminates in May, 24th, at the first VUB Congress.

  • Beginning this year, VUB professor Paul Wylleman was met by the Japanese Minister of Education, Sports, Culture and Technology - and former Olympian athlete - Hiroshi Hase and Deputy Minister Mayuko Toyota. The head of VUB’s research group in Sports Psychology and Mental Coaching was invited by the Japanese government, along with two colleagues. The visit has its importance, since Japan is hosting the Summer Olympics four years from now.
