  • Logo QS World University RankingsWhile not overestimating the importance of the much debated international university rankings, the VUB is proud to be featured among the world’s top universities. Concretely, VUB has advanced 60 positions and is now ranked 313th in the 2014 edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), continuing its recent upward trend.  

  • September 2014 the VUB China Network website is officially launched. It constitutes a solid platform to facilitate the collaboration between VUB and Chinese institutions by sharing information and resources.

  • Nobelprijswinnaar Scheikunde Kobilka

    On October 1, 2014, Brian K. Kobilka is visiting the VIB Structural Biology Research Center/VUB. Brian Kobilka is Professor Molecular & Cellular Physiology at Stanford and recipient of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with Robert Lefkowits. He will be giving a lecture on structural insights into G protein coupled receptor signaling. The American professor received in 1994 also the renowned John J Abel Award in Pharmacology.
