On Friday 9 February 2024, the VUB International Relations office organised an information session to welcome over 150 new international students and trainees who arrived at the VUB to start the 2nd semester through their exchange programmes.
The info session included, among other things, presentations from different student bodies such as the International Student Platform (ISP) and ESN VUB EhB Brussels.
Afterwards, the incoming students had a chance to get to know each other better by taking part in the traditional campus tour of the Etterbeek campus. Each participating student was welcomed with a small gift.
This year’s exchange students and trainees arriving for the 2nd semester come from 30 different partner universities in Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
In all, we welcome over 38 nationalities this semester to VUB!
More than half of them are studying at the Faculty of Social Sciences & Solvay Business School. The next biggest draw is the Faculty of Engineering, followed by the Faculty of Sciences and Bio-engineering Sciences and the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences.
The interns will follow traineeships in the Faculty of Sciences and Bio-engineering Sciences, followed by the Faculty of Physical Education & Physiotherapy, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Medicine & Pharmacy at the university hospital UZ Brussel.
We want to welcome them all to Brussels and the VUB! We wish them all the best, and we hope that they will enjoy their time with us in Belgium!
