Standaard traject (BRUFACE)

The standard track in Master of Science in Civil Engineering (BRUFACE) (120 ECTS) is made up of 5 modules:
1) compulsory common courses (55 ECTS)
2) project (1 project to choose out of 3 that are provided, 5 ECTS)
3) option blocks (1 option to choose out of 3 that are provided, 16 ECTS each)
4) electives (thematic lists) (20 ECTS to choose)
5) the Master Thesis (24 ECTS)
Each of the modules should be succesfully completed to obtain the master degree. The student must respect the specified registration requirements. The Curriculum Board strongly suggests the student to follow the standard learning track. Only this model track can guarantee a timeschedule without overlaps of the compulsory course units.

Elective Courses MA Civil Engineering

In the 2nd year of the standard learning track, students must successfully complete 20 ECTS of electives, different from the 16 ECTS of ‘option’ courses.

This module includes the eligible courses, arranged in thematic lists. The student can choose courses from either one or more lists. At least 14 of the 20 ECTS must be selected from the lists mentioned below and, provided preliminary approval by the authorized Curriculum Board, not more than 6 ECTS can be selected outside these lists. Courses of the compulsory option the student is already registered for or has already successfully accomplished are of course not considered as elective.

Students who want to select the 'Team Leader Project' as an elective, in addition to and different from the project already achieved in the 1st year of the master program, must first contact their Faculty Secretariat before they can enroll.
To complete this module, students must obtain 36 study points.

Master Thesis

The Master Thesis (24 ECTS) is compulsory. Registration for the Master Thesis is allowed provided that

1. the student doesn't have a combined bachelor-master enrollment

2. the student has already successfully accomplished 45 ECTS of compulsory courses of the master program (exemptions included).
