Brussels Privacy Hub's 2nd European Data Protection Law Summer School: The GDPR is now!

  • Will equip participants to deal with many challenges that lie ahead when the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force in May 2018

  • A practical dimension combined with a more general exploration of the evolving global and European privacy landscape, with a specific emphasis on transatlantic issues and current policy debates

  • The summer school is a multi-stakeholder event, allowing participatns to network with principal EU data protection institutions and actors in Brussels

  • Teaching staff will consist of leading academics in EU data protection law, public and private legal practitioners, and representatives of key EU institutions.

 Summer School Fundamentals of Optical Sensors

The summer school is on Fundamentals of Optical Sensors and is the first training event organised by the FINESSE Consortium of which the VUB is a partner.

  • The event is mainly focussed towards Master’s students and early stage PhD students.

  • Price of the training event is 240.

  • The training event includes a welcome reception, lectures by Professors and industrial partners, a poster presentation session, and a concluding party. 

  • During the poster session, students are requested to present their current research work to all the participants.

  • The spring school will take place in Vrije Universiteit Brussel campus during 6-9 June 2017.

Summer School W.A.T.E.R. - Workshop on Advanced measurement Techniques and Experimental Research

W.A.T.E.R. – Workshop on Advanced measurement Techniques and Experimental Research is a joint initiative by the Vrije Universiteit Brussels and the  Experimental Methods and Instrumentation Committee of the International Association for the Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) with the collaboration of the Flemish Marine Institute and the Flanders Hydraulics Research.

This Summer School is focused on experimental methods applied in different hydraulics fields. It combines theoretical sessions and hands-on measurement exercises both in the laboratory and in the field.

  • Aimed at: PhD and Master students + technical personnel willing to get training in advanced hydraulic measurement techniques. Participants will get the opportunity to learn by engaging with an array of sessions with educational hands-on experiences taught by experts. 

  • Number of credits: 3 ECTS

  • Venue: Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) in Oostende, Belgium
