The majority of the world’s population lives in cities. Urban culture is reshaping the world: urbanisation and globalisation are two sides of the same coin. The interdisciplinary and international Master in Urban Studies (4CITIES), which is organised by six universities in four European capitals, sets out – at the crossroads of sociology, geography, history, cultural studies, and humanistic urban studies – to address this fundamentally novel aspect of the human condition.
