Master of Science in Business Information and Service Management
Outline
The point of departure of the program is based on the observation that the success of ICT projects in business does not solely depend on the technical quality and capacities of the ICT-people involved but also quite heavily on the way these projects are directed and how much they are in line with the strategic business plan.
Of utmost importance for the managers is the understanding of the alignment between ICT and business. More and more well managed organizations are convinced that the importance of “principles of governance” increases exponentially and that the success of their companies or industries depends on it.
The program in Business Information Management focuses on the knowledge and techniques, which are relevant in this setting. The program therefore primarily emphasizes information management rather than information technology but without neglecting technological aspects and innovation.
It is aimed as well at ICT professionals as at business-economics managers oriented towards ICT.
Students have to learn an adequate scientific research methodology, mainly supported by the master thesis. On the other hand teamwork is encouraged through group assignments in several courses.
