Internal and External Communication Department
The mission of the Internal and External Communication Department is to keep students, staff, alumni and the 'general' public informed as much as possible about education, student affairs and corporate matters.
In concrete terms, this department :
- disseminates news via a weekly electronic newsletter, a daily (on-line) press review, the corporate magazine Akademos, the news page, and the on-line calendar of activities;
- distributes press releases, organises press conferences, guides press interviews, and maintains relations with the media in various ways, including a press newsletter;
- publishes general publications regarding the university structures, such as the annual report and the pocket diary for students;
- provides communication support to the large-scale official university functions and ceremonies, such as the opening of the academic year, honorary doctorate ceremonies, etc., and to major (cultural) events;
- is in charge of the advertising policy and the study publications;
- is responsible for the daily maintenance of the central VUB web pages.
