Etterbeek sports facilities
VUB staff members who hold a sports card can take part in 20-odd sports classes and have access to the complete sports facilities of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (fitness gym, tennis courts, badminton, volleyball, etc.), all at ‘democratic’ prices. The range of sports also includes less frequently practised activities such as mountain biking, yoga, etc. Read more at the website of the Sports Department
HealthCity in Jette
HealthCity can be found on the Jette medical campus and comprises a total area of 4,400 sq. m. dedicated to sports and recreation, making it one of the biggest sports centres in Belgium.

Culture
The ‘Y’ meeting centre is home to a whole range of cultural and artistic activities as well as to a youth centre. The Kultuurkaffee is the flagship of this service and the nerve centre of cultural life on campus, where there is always something going on. Among the many creative workshops that are organised here, there is surely something to please everyone: music workshops, black-and-white photography, audio, drama, etc. The cultural service also publishes Court-Circuit, a three-monthly programme with all the activities.

The VUB ensemble
This ensemble is mainly composed of VUB students, alumni and staff, but it is also open to anyone who sympathises with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In the first place, the term ‘VUB ensemble’ refers to the full symphonic orchestra of the university, but there are also smaller ensembles.

De Zangfaculteit
De Zangfaculteit is the four-part choir of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
De ZangFaculteit is always looking for vocal talent: students, alumni, staff members or people who sympathise with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, everyone is welcome. Anyone who is interested in joining the choir can come and meet the singers and the conductor during the weekly rehearsals.
