Studying in Brussels, the capital of Europe

BrusselsBrussels has some very interesting features. It is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, still, it is a very intimate and relatively cheap capital. Its official languages are French and Dutch, but , it boasts an astonishing variety of cultures, styles and nationalities, so, many other languages are spoken.

Tradition in International Students

Each year we welcome about 1.300 international students, of which some 600 come from Asia, Africa and South America. We can offer you an international and comfortable working and study environment.

Exemption from tuition fees for BTC scholars

Do not spend half of your scholarship on tuition fees. As extra support for BTC scholars our university decided to reduce the tuition fee to the administrative cost of only 80 euro.

Language courses

Return home with an international focused CV: learn extra languages during your stay in Brussels. On campus two schools offer language courses at very affordable prices.

All facilities available

Campus gebouw DOur two main campuses offer you a wide variety of facilities: assistance to search for lodging, catering facilities, sports and fitness centres, culture and leisure activities, a student jobservice, general and mental healthcare. BTC scholars get a reduction on meals in the university restaurant.

Furthermore, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel provides free access to the Internet and an e-mail account for every student.

Feel@home

The International Relations and Mobility Office assists and supports the international students by providing information and services regarding health insurance, residence permits, immigration regulations and any kind of problem encountered in everyday life (how to deal with banks, taxes, etc.)

The feel@home service helps international students to find their place in the university and in their new environment. Newly arriving students are invited to the 'Welcome-day' and to several social and cultural activities, which are organised during the year.
