In offering a broad range of sports facilities, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel affirms its commitment to two of its priorities: social integration and good physical form. For us, a healthy mind in a healthy body is not simply another slogan; it is a living principle of well being.
Every year the sports department of the university organises various sports activities for the benefit of its students, staff members and alumni, but also for external persons, whor are given full access to the extensive sports infrastructure available on the campus.
Students are given the opportunity to do their favourite sports during the academic year and to do so at affordable fees. If you have not yet pinpointed what could improve the quality of your life but somewhere feel that exercise would do you some good, ask for our special brochure "Students' Sports Brussel". This publication is addressed to all students of the University Association of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Erasmushogeschool Brussel). and will provide you with a detailed overview of the sports activitities (training programmes, competitions, clubs, etc) offered on each campus.
Staff members who feel the need for some relief from the stresses and strains of their routine may be gladdened by the news that there is a whole range of sports happenings at lunchtime.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel is also interested in pursuing an active and inspiring relationship with its alumni, whom we consider as ambassadors of the university. The alumni pass ensures that the connection with the university is preserved after graduation. As an alumnus, you are entitled to a variety of attrative benefits, not least of which is full access to our sports facilities.
And we have not forgotten external persons and their friends, who, for example, may rent a court for indoor soccer, badminton or volleybal matches, and several other sports activities. In addition, a large number of our sports and training programmes are open to non-alumni.
If our sports offering appeals to you, why not come and visit the sports department for detailed information? It is open from Monday to Friday form 9 am to 9 pm.
