Chinese Social Science Subject Course

The Confucius Institute at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel offers a challenging course with an emphasis on the combination between language learning and social sciences. The course aims to teach and discuss Chinese culture and history from an angle of social sciences. Moreover, the language of tuition will be a mix of English and Chinese, meaning that the course can be attended by both beginner and intermediate students who aim to build up a scientific and accurate vocabulary in Chinese. Through this course, we hope to create an immersive language environment that allows the students to learn about social sciences and Chinese history while simultaneously acquiring a broad vocabulary and functional competences in Chinese.

Conversation Table

Every Thursday from 12:00 to 14:00, a conversation table will be organised. During this class, students can collectively choose and prepare a topic for discussion. The teacher offers relevant vocabulary and modes of expression throughout. This helps to integrate language learning in a substantial and useful context. The conversation table is organised for beginner and intermediate students together.
