What is Eurobio?

The European Association of University Departments of Biology originated in ideas discussed at meetings with representatives from Departments of Biology from a number of European Universities in many different EU member states (as in all EU matters, the term "university" includes all institutions of higher education).

General aims

The association looks upon itself as having an advisory role, in all aspects of biology, studied at universities within the European Union and closely affiliated states in other parts of Europe. This task may be carried out within any organisation responsible for setting policies on higher education and scientific research or its funding.

Other tasks are:

Thus Eurobio will be an association for discussions about present European Biology education including basic training as well as Ph.D. studies, new possibilities and plans for future development. It will promote teaching collaboration on a European scale in biology.
