The Mangrove Management Group consists of faculty and students from three laboratories at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

The Laboratory of Ecology and Systematics (ECOL),
the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry (ANCH), and

Farid Dahdouh-Guebas (APNA) Interests: retrospection, prediction, vegetation structure, spatio-temporal dynamics, remote sensing, GIS, propagule predation, plant-animal interactions, man-ecosystem interactions, ethnobiology, global change.
 
Nico Koedam (APNA) Interests: Vegetation studies, mangrove aerial photography analysis and mangrove physio-ecology.
 
Ludwig Triest (APNA) Interests: population genetics, RAPD, cp and mt DNA, Sri Lanka.
 
Anouk Verheyden (APNA) Interests: Woodanatomy, dendro-ecology, stable C-isotopes, ICP-MS, groundwater modelling, aerial photograph interpretation, mangrove dynamics , species distribution.
 
Steven Bouillon (ANCH) Interests: The fate of mangrove carbon in different mangrove ecosystems, and the importance of different primary producers to the faunal communities in mangrove ecosystems.
