Communication Studies: Journalism and Media in Europe

The Master of Communication Studies: Journalism and Media in Europe is a one-year academic master that prepares you to become a media and communications professional with a profound strategic and interdisciplinary understanding of journalism, media and communication in a European context. You will get a deep understanding of changing journalistic business models, of journalistic practices in the digital age, and of the relation between journalism, policy-making, advocacy, political communication and political ideologies. With its range of European and international institutions and the many media, journalism and communication professionals working here, Brussels is the perfect place to study media and journalism in Europe. We also offer a Master of Communication Studies: New Media and Society in Europe that focuses on technological innovation, media economics, and European media policy.

I learned to critically reflect on the latest trends and developments in the sector and measure their value to businesses, governments and citizens. Furthermore, not only was I impressed by the outstanding academic and professional knowledge of the professors, but they were all friendly and approachable.

Living in Brussels can be really challenging. I am impressed by the fact that the capital of Belgium is extremely international. You can meet a lot of new people here. I believe that the city can offer you a lot of opportunities.

The international character of  the Master appealed to me  because of the fact that the  different cultures and  backgrounds give different  views  on the same theory. It's interesting because it feels like  gaining information from the  people that experience it  themselves.
