For the PhD student


- A structure for follow-up, guidance and support
- Encouragement of generic knowledge/skills
- Improved access of PhD to the labour market
- No extra obligations/roadblocks towards doctorate
- Network of PhD students (social/professional)

 

For "the PhD process" ("the third cycle")


- Increased attractiveness for current and future students
- Improved visibility, announcement, PR
- Contact person per discipline
- Forum for students and researchers
- Better link to industry, government and labour market

 

For the Doctoral School


- Courses, workshops
- Activities with a generic quality (writing skills, SPSS, Graph Pad etc)
- Thematic days, LSM seminars both disciplinary and interdisciplinary
