Jeroen Poppe

Jeroen Poppe graduated as a Master in Architecture (KUL, Ghent) and obtained a Master in Sustainable Building (UPC, Barcelona). Jeroen is a researcher at VUB Architectural Engineering since 2017. His research focuses on Design for Change and Circularity and is marked by a close relationship between theory and practice, design and policy. Stakeholder involvement is a common thread between his projects: the Circular Retrofit Lab (a circular renovation pilot with manufacturers, part of BAMB), Atelier Circulair (a learning network with designers, with NAV) and GACB, a project on the role of local authorities in the transition to a circular building economy (in collaboration with the city of Mechelen).

From 2008 to 2015 he worked as a researcher and technical consultant at Pixii/Passiefhuis-Platform, promoting the adoption of PassiveHouse design strategies in residential and non-residential buildings. He supported designers, manufacturers and local authorities in the development of more than 200 PassiveHouse projects and certified the first Flemish PassiveHouse shools for Agion.
