Public lecture

Anne Fagot-Largeault is a French psychiatrist and philosopher. She is a professor at the Collège de France and is a member of the Academy of Sciences of the Institut de France. Within the context of the Academic Chair 'History and Philosophy of Sciences' Anne Fagot-Largeault will give a public lecture on philosophy and medicine. In her presentation she will seek to clarify the features of a medical philosophy that can not be reduced to a neutral ethics.

  • 19.00-19.15: Introduction by Jean Paul Van Bendegem
  • 19.15-20.00: Public lecture by Anne Fagot-Largeault: Médicine et Philosophie (French spoken lecture!)
    Pratiquer la médecine n'est pas philosophiquement neutre. Dans son exposé, Anne Fagot-Largeault cherchera à expliciter les traits d'une philosophie médicale qui ne se réduit pas à une éthique.
