The Launch Event on Thursday Sept 25 kicks off the Starter Seminars, 11 sessions on the fundamentals of business and (technology) entrepreneurship for non-economists. 

Students of this program will acquire the vocabulary and mindset needed to elaborate their potential venture and interact more efficiently with tech transfer offices, investors and other partners.

Program (6pm – 9pm)

  • Prof. Hugo Thienpont - Chairman Applied Physics and Photonics Dept., Director B-PHOT (Brussels Photonic Team), Academic coordinator Knowledge & Technology Transfer 
    The role of an entrepreneurial mindset at the university and vision on the future
  • Sonja Haesen - Head of the Technology Transfer Interface
    Support for valorisation of research, both by VUB and other sources
  • Prof. Jan Cornelis - Dept. Electronics and Informatics, Director Iris Research Group, VUB board representative QBIC Fund
    QBIC Venture Capital Fund 
  • Marc Goldchstein - Lecturer and project leader Technological Entrepreneurship
    Starter Seminars and other educational programs on (technology) entrepreneurship @VUB
  • Special Guest Speakers
    Daniel Van Nieuwenhove and Stijn Christiaens from respectively OPTRIMA (SOFTKINETIC) and COLLIBRA, both successful and fast growing VUB spin-offs, will elaborate on the fascinating stories of their companies and the contributions made by VUB.
