Career Event

CERN, of LHC and WWW fame, will visit VUB. This in light of the research organisation’s insatiable appetite for highly qualified engineering professionals.

CERN has more than 2.500 staff members and hosts more than 10.000 fellows, associates, apprentices, visiting scientists, and engineers. The organisation represents more than 600 universities and research facilities from over 80 countries in the field of high energy physics and other related scientific and technical domains.

Yet scientists do not make out the largest professional group among CERN’s 2.500 staff members. Most numerous are the engineers. CERN employs more than a thousand of them, active in a wide range of fields (computing and IT, vacuum and cryogenics, electronics, electricity, magnet technology, mechanics, material science, radiofrequency and control Systems, etc.).

To inform as many students and researchers as possible of the many career opportunities in one of the world’s leading research facilities, CERN is paying a visit to VUB on the 28th of October. Representatives of the research organisation will pitch various, especially engineering jobs, first and foremost in fields less related to particle physics.

Participating in this event is free, but registration is required. You can do so at VUB's R&D website.
