Resilience is a powerful idea(l) whose deployment spans the macro-level of ecological and economic systems to the micro-level of selves, and the complex circuits of power between them. What does an ethics of self that privileges resilience look like? Which subjects does it shape under its auspices? This presentation takes resilience as a point of departure to tell yet another tale of neoliberal governmentality, and explores the gendered character of this neoliberal mode of subjectification.

Presentation by prof. dr. Sarah Bracke (University of Amsterdam/VUB)
